Winter maintenance: tent, pad, zips
January is for fixing what the season broke. This year the list was short: a slow leak in the pad, a sticky tent zip, and a rain jacket that had stopped beading.
The pad leak was a pinhole near the valve, found in the bath on the second try. A patch from the repair kit and a night under a pile of books fixed it.
The zip needed nothing more than a toothbrush and warm water to get the grit out. The jacket got a wash and a low tumble dry, which brought the water repellency back better than any spray I have tried.
